Grants to Missouri public high schools, community colleges, and career centers to expand and improve career education programs. Funding is intended to address industry and business occupational training needs, with an emphasis on training in high-demand occupations that are in critical shortage. Grants may be used for new and existing occupational preparatory (long-term) career education training programs, curriculum enhancement, instructional equipment, and facility improvement, particularly in high demand occupations.

There is no maximum amount for a grant award.

Term of Contract:

July 1, 2021 through April 1, 2022. [Note: The fiscal year for the Enhancement Grant is July 1, 2021- June 30, 2022; however grant funds should be obligated and expended by April 1 in order to assure payments made to the grantee occur after they have expended the funds.]

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible Entities: Missouri public high schools, area career centers, and community colleges currently operating Department-approved occupational preparatory (long-term) career education programs offering courses eligible for grant funding. School Districts with an area career center must submit one grant that includes requests for that center as well as all district high schools.

Pre-Application Information:

Applications must be submitted through the Department’s online Compliance Plan web application no later than February 28, 2021, 11:59 PM.

Local education agencies must match the requested grant funds for instructional equipment/capital outlay expenditures on at least a 25% local/75% state basis and for other expenditures on at least a 50% local/50% state basis.
