Grant Description
Grants of up to $20,000 to Missouri nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and school districts to benefit communities in eligible regions. Funding is intended for programs and projects that promote neighborly attitudes and encourage residents to participate in community and social groups. Eligible organizations outside of Springfield and Greene County, but within the CFO service area, are encouraged to apply. This includes rural Missouri south of the Missouri River and outside the metro areas of St. Louis and Kansas City.

The primary goal of this grant program is to address the epidemic of loneliness and social isolation by creating meaningful ways to connect people with their communities. 

Applications must demonstrate a commitment to establishing a well-rounded and inclusive approach to engaging participants.

Additional Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible agencies must be nonprofit 501(c)3 or organizations with equivalent tax exempt status in good standing with the IRS.
- Eligible agencies (nonprofits, local government entities, or school districts) must serve in the CFO service area outside of Greene County.

Ineligible
Applications that request more than $20,000 will not be considered.

Projects requesting funding for religious worship, instruction or proselytization will not be considered.

Estimated Size of Grant
Please note, the maximum request amount cannot exceed $20,000. A proposal range within $10,000-$20,000 is recommended.

Term of Contract
This is a single-year grant program with final reporting due one year from grant receipt.

Grant funding usage and reporting timeline for this program is March 2024 - April 2025.
