Opportunity for Kansas and Missouri nonprofit organizations in eligible areas to participate in an awareness and fundraising campaign. The program is intended to promote local nonprofits by encouraging residents to learn about and support those organizations. Eligible nonprofits are located in and serve the communities of the Kansas City metropolitan area.

On the 9th and 29th of each month beginning March 2021, KMBC and KCWE will highlight a local nonprofit organization and encourage viewers to learn about and support that organization. 

Community Day impact could include traffic to an organization's website and social media accounts, donations, volunteer commitments, etc.

Additional Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible requirements:
- The organization meets the requirements of U.S. IRS Code Section 501(c)(3) for qualified charitable organizations. To verify if your charity meets these requirements, search GuideStar at https://www.guidestar.org/
- The organization is located in or serving the communities of the Kansas City metropolitan area.
- If selected, the organization will commit to a Community Giving Day on the 9th or 29th of a month between March and June 2021.

Pre-Application Information:

The deadline to apply is December 18, 2020, at 5:00 PM CST.

Applications will be reviewed by the Committee twice per year. The following dates apply to applications for Community Giving Days between March 1 and June 30, 2021:
- Application Launch Date: November 13, 2020
- Application Deadline: December 18, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. CST
- Applicants will be notified of the committee’s decisions via email the week of February 8, 2021
