Grants ranging between $5,000 and $25,000 to St. Louis County, Missouri nonprofits for community benefit programs. LOIs are due September 29, 2017. Funding is intended for the focus areas of education, arts and culture, health, social services, and the environment. Preference will be given to organizations with operating budgets of less than $1 million.

Single year grants are generally $5,000 to $25,000.
Grants will take place over a single year.
Organizations must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code operating within the St. Louis Standard Metropolitan Statistical area that provide services within the City and County of St. Louis. Preference will be given to organizations with operating budgets of less than $1 million.
SOS does not generally provide grant money for operating support, but may do so for specific costs associated with well-planned projects.
Organizations receiving SOS grants for two consecutive years must wait one year before applying for additional grant money.
Generally Not Funded:
- Major building/capital campaigns, although program specific capital requests may receive grants
- Conferences or benefits
- Individuals, for any purpose
- Scholarships for a named individual, although scholarship funds may receive grants
- For-profit organizations
- Organizations not operating within the Greater St. Louis Community
- Projects that promote religious or political doctrine
- Research (medical or otherwise)
- Operating deficits/retirement of existing debt

To submit an LOI, complete the "Short Form" application and the project and organizational budget templates. Letters of Inquiry will be accepted starting September 1, 2017 until September 29, 2017 at 5:00 PM for the current grant cycle.
Organizations will be notified in the third week of November 2017 if they have been chosen to submit a full proposal.
Organizations invited to submit a full application must complete the full-length application of the Missouri Common Grant Application and Budget Templates by January 26, 2018.
Site Visits are planned for February through March, 2018, and organizations are notified of final decisions in May 2018.
