Grants starting at $10,000 to USA, Canada, and International nonprofit organizations for environmental sustainability initiatives to improve ocean health. Funding is intended to support innovative projects that meet challenges faced by the marine and sailing industries. Eligible projects will promote the adoption of clean technologies, ocean stewardship, and the reduction of ocean pollution.

11th Hour Racing is committed to mobilizing the sailing and marine communities to create systemic change for the improved health of the world's oceans. Fostering environmentally sustainable practices on and off the water is critical.  11th Hour Racing sees the opportunity the sailing and marine industries present to develop new ways to use resources in a more responsible manner. 11th Hour Racing seeks not only to drive change in these industries, but also to facilitate a more responsible use of energy and resources among the private sector, governments, and individuals.

Eligible projects align with 11th Hour Racing’s program strategy to advance one or more of these focus areas:

  • Solutions that Reduce Plastic Pollution
  • Ocean Literacy and Stewardship amongst coastal communities
  • Clean Technologies and Best Practices that reduce the environmental impact of the maritime industry and coastal communities
  • Projects tackling water quality issues and climate change through Ecosystem Restoration

For examples of potential projects in each of these focus areas, and for Evaluation Criteria, see the URL for Full Text below.
